1. Sleep Disturbances

For these reasons, many experts recommend limiting coffee consumption or avoiding coffee in the evening.
2. Digestive Issues
Coffee contains a compound called caffeine, which has a stimulating effect on the secretion of stomach acid. Caffeine stimulates the muscles of the stomach, increasing the secretion of stomach acid, thus making digestion more active. Drinking coffee on an empty stomach can lead to excessive secretion of stomach acid, burdening the digestive system and causing issues like heartburn or gastritis. This effect is one of the common causes of digestive problems experienced by frequent coffee drinkers.
3. Caffeine Dependence
Continuous caffeine intake can lead to dependence, and withdrawal symptoms (headache, fatigue, irritability, etc.) can occur when consumption is stopped. Caffeine dependence acts on the central nervous system, promoting the release of dopamine and adrenaline. This leads to a decrease in the effectiveness of caffeine, requiring more coffee to achieve the same effect. When caffeine consumption is stopped, the levels of dopamine and adrenaline rapidly decrease, causing withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms can include headaches, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, and decreased concentration.
4. Worsening Health Issues
People with high blood pressure or heart disease may find that coffee consumption negatively affects their health. The caffeine in coffee affects the heart and blood vessels and can interact with certain medications, causing side effects. For example, caffeine can increase heart rate and blood pressure. Additionally, caffeine can reduce the effectiveness or increase the side effects of certain medications, such as antihypertensives, anti-inflammatory drugs, and antidepressants. Therefore, individuals with these conditions should consult with their doctor to adjust their coffee intake appropriately.
